Realme's plans to offer flagship phones include high refresh rate screens in 2020.

Realme Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Xu Qi Chase has revealed that the company's 2020 flagship model will have a high refresh rate display panel.Chase did not provide details on the flagship model, but only teased the feature. To recall, Realme recently introduced the Realme X50 Pro in India with a 90Hz refresh rate, and also made it available in China, which was earlier this month. The Realme X50 Pro is the company's first flagship of 2020 with Snapdragon 865 SoC, quad rear camera setup and dual hole-punch display in the front. This latest teaser shows that Realme is trying to put more flags in 2020, possibly later in the year.

Chase took to Weibo to claim that every major smartphone model to be launched in 2020 should come with a high refresh rate display. The Realme executive didn't mention the exact refresh rate he is referring to, but it presumably should be more than 60Hz at the very least. While refresh rates of 90 Hz and 120 Hz bring smooth animation and navigation, they drain the battery faster. It remains to be seen how Realme tackles this problem, and finds a middle ground where users are able to use higher refresh rates without compromising battery life.

Realme can opt for such a solution, but it is difficult to say at the moment. Its Realme X50 Pro offered a 90Hz refresh rate, and the next flagship may offer more.
All this is pure speculation at this point.
